Department of Community Health Nursing in collaboration with NSS Unit V and Eco Club
The Department of Community Health Nursing, in collaboration with NSS Unit V and the Eco Club, organized World Environment Day on 15th June 2025 at the Durga Parmeshwari Yuvaka Mandala, Devipura Talapady from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
As part of the program, an informative session on vermi composting was conducted by Mr. Vinayaka Bhatta and Mr. Vasanth, highlighting its significance in sustainable waste management and environmental conservation. The demonstration covered the setup of a vermi compost unit, types of biodegradable waste suitable for composting, and the role of earthworms in converting organic waste into nutrient-rich compost.
The session was engaging and educational, enhanced by the use of appropriate audio-visual aids, improving participants' understanding of eco-friendly practices.
At the end of the event, refreshments were distributed to all participants. The session concluded with positive feedback, reflecting the program's success in promoting environmental awareness and sustainable living practices.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from NSS volunteers, guided by Mrs. Navya (Assistant Professor & NSS Programme Officer), Mrs. Pavithra (Assistant Professor), and Mrs. Benazeera (Associate Professor & Eco Club In-Charge).
The program was highly successful in effectively creating awareness, promoting understanding, and encouraging community engagement.
