Brief Report of the Event:
In observance of World Blood Donor Day, the Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing, in collaboration with the Youth Red Cross Unit and Red Ribbon Club of Yenepoya Nursing College, organized a blood donation camp, a guest lecture, and a flash mob on June 25, 2025. The event took place at the Foundation Lab on the fifth floor of Yenepoya Nursing College, from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
Dr. Vidya Rekha R Kamath, Blood Bank Officer at Yenepoya Medical College Hospital, delivered a guest lecture centered on the theme of World Blood Donor Day during the program. The session was exceptionally informative and inspired many participants to contemplate becoming regular blood donors.
The Blood Bank of Yenepoya Medical College Hospital acquired a total of 70 units of blood. The program benefited around 100 students.

The World Blood Donor Day program was a huge success in raising awareness and educating people about the importance of blood donation. Students developed a stronger feeling of civic duty as a result of the event, which also brought attention to the value of voluntary blood donation and the part played by medical experts in ensuring a steady supply of safe blood.
