Brief Report of the Event:

On the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, a two-day program was organized by the Department of Mental Health Nursing in collaboration with the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CFSAP) - Satellite Unit, YNC, on 21st and 27th June 2025.

Poster and collage competitions were conducted at Yenepoya Nursing College on 21st June 2025, with a total of 35 groups participating. Two judges evaluated the entries, and winners were announced the same day. The poster exhibition was held on the 4th floor and was attended by students and faculty.

On 27th June 2025, a program was held at Yenepoya PU College from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon. It began with an invocation by PU College students. Dr. Rameela Shekhar was the chief guest and conducted an impactful session titled "Strong Minds, Safe Choices: Counter Drugs with Resilience". Her address emphasized mental resilience as a key tool in drug abuse prevention.

The session was followed by a mime performance by VI Semester B.Sc. Nursing students and a poster exhibition for PU students. Certificates and tokens of appreciation were distributed, and Dr. Viji Prasad C delivered the vote of thanks.

The event was well-received and appreciated by all attendees, including students and teachers.

Outcome of the Event:

The guest talk was insightful and engaging. The mime performance and poster exhibition were informative and visually captivating. Students found the event highly beneficial.
